One Week Until Surgery
As of today, I have one week until the most serious surgery in my life. I know that others have faced more serious surgeries but, for me, this is the most serious surgery I have faced and probably will ever face.
On October 27, the best surgeons in South Carolina will undergo two objectives. The first is that a surgeon will open my neck and remove all of the cancer. He will carefully remove the cancer that chemotherapy has not eliminated.
The second part of the surgery is what scares me to death. A surgeon will remove half of my jaw and shape a section of my left leg bone and replace half my jaw with bone.
The part that scares me is recover. The first two weeks, I'll have my upper and lower jaws wired together and I'll have to eat through a tube in my nose. I can only have liquid and pureed food and Mandy will have to follow the dietician carefully if I'm going to get the resources I need. And for those who haven't seen me in a while, I'm currently about 210 pounds which is lighter than the day I got married.
Now guys, here's how you can help me. I have to pay around $20,000 for the surgery and recovery serves. I have raised around $5,500 so far. There are 100 people who are subscribed to this page. If everyone would donate between $20 - $100 even if you've donated once before it would help me lay a foundation as I pay for this over the next couple years.
