I have the date for the surgery. It will be October 20. It will take 2 surgeons working 8 hours each. I don't like it being that far away but God has a plan. My surgeon told me that due to the level of planning and needed CT scans that it would take this long to have it and it would be beneficial for me to start a routine to battle the cancer's size and also chemotherapy.

Here is an outline of the surgery.

  1. One surgeon will remove a tumor from my neck that is currently over 8 inches long and packed with cancer.
  2. Once all the tumor has been removed, the other surgeon will remove about half my jaw and replace it with a shaped piece of bone, taken from my fibula (leg bone) from my right or left side.
  3. After having the bone set and secured in place the doctors will see if they need to cut and remove any of my mouth and tongue. After they are don't with that they will make sure everything is stitched up and good.

I know God has a plan in all of this. After surgery is done, I will spend 1-2 days in ICU and then 7-8 days in a normal room. I don't know how long recovery will take but as soon as I can talk again I'll be back at church.

As you have been so faithful to pray for me can I ask you to pray three things 1) They can move up the surgery 2) pray that surgery gets all the cancer 3) prayer that God helps me make much of Jesus as I go through this trial.
